Former England Youth player who looked dangerous as a Miller but has so far struggled to adapt to life at Vicarage Road
A regular for England at youth level, Hoskins came through the ranks at Rotherham and made an immediate impact in the first team, scoring twice on his debut against Wigan in December 2003.
He then made fleeting appearances until midway through the League One campaign of 2005/06 when his former youth coach Alan Knill took over as first-team boss. Handed a regular starting place, Hoskins netted 15 goals in 22 appearances during 2006-07 thanks to his intelligent movement and close ball control.
He joined Watford along with team-mate Lee Williamson in January 2007, but having struggled to make an impact, went back to his home town of Nottingham on loan to during the second half of 2007/08.
