The Israeli import is slowly adapting to the top flight of English football, as his father did before him
The son of former Liverpool player Avi Cohen, the midfielder spent his early career at Maccabi Tel Aviv and appeared in the Champions League group stage.
Moving on to Maccabi Netanya, he made his Israel debut in 2007 and played in his country’s European Championships qualifying victory against Russia, which briefly gave England hope. Cohen became Gary Megson's first signing when he joined Bolton in the January transfer window in 2008 and made his debut in an FA Cup defeat to Sheffield United.
The bustling left-footer is committed in the tackle and has proved best suited to the midfield destroyer role. Scored his first goal for Bolton – appropriately against Liverpool – in March 2008.
