Scannell impressed greatly in 2007/08 and Premier League teams are already circling. Simon Jordan will be pleased...

The brother of Southend United player Damian Scannell, attacking midfielder Sean was one of several Academy graduates to star for Palace during 2007-08.

Announcing his arrival in the side by scoring on his home debut against Sheffield Wednesday, Scannell is happy playing on either flank or at centre forward and was mainly used on the right side by Neil Warnock during his first season.

A Republic of Ireland U21 international, he is deceptively quick with good technique and was especially dangerous when brought on late in a game to run at tiring defenders. Eire coach Giovanni Trapattoni called Scannell into his first 40-man squad in May 2008.

Potentially a very good prospect. Cardiff supporters were very impressed with his lines of running, pace and quick feet during the clash earlier in the season. Needs to fill out a bit, as his fragile frame may count against him in future times
