With an impressive record at old clubs, Hamshaw has proved to be a quality player with a lot of talent
Skilful right-winger Hamshaw made the short switch from Mansfield to Nottingham in June 2008 after the Field Mill outfit dropped into the Conference. An out-and-out wide-man with pace, an accurate cross and eye for goal, Hamshaw began his career as a trainee with Sheffield Wednesday and spent seven seasons at Hillsborough, making more than 70 league appearances.
He was named Stockport County’s captain for his one and only campaign at Edgeley Park in 2005/06 but was released after the Hatters flirted with relegation to non-league – an indignity Hamshaw failed to avoid with Mansfield after two seasons as a virtual ever-present for the Stags.
