Douglas is one of the Football League's most committed and consistent performers, and has been an instant hit at Swindon...
Rejected by boyhood heroes Celtic as a youngster, Douglas began his career with Blackburn Rovers, at the tie playing in the second tier of English football.
Having made his senior debut as an 18 year old in a League Cup clash with West Ham, the Irishman saw his progress hampered by cruciate ligament which restricted him to just two more senior appearances in the 20 months that followed.
loans spells at lower league sides Chesterfield and Blackpool followed, before Douglas returned to Ewood Park and enjoyed a run in the first team in the second half of the 2003/04 season, scoring his first Premier League goal in a 4-3 win at Fulham, during this period he also made his full Ireland debut in a friendly draw in Poland.
In the summer of 2005 he made a loan move to Leeds United, which became permanent 12 months, and 32 league appearances for the Whites, later.
Douglas went on to play over 100 times for the Yorkshire side, before moving to League One rivals Swindon Town in the summer of 2009.
