A 7-0 horror show debut defeat would be enough to break weaker men. Good job Andrew Taylor is made of stronger stuff then...
Taylor has been a regular member of the Boro defence in recent seasons, after an inauspicious start to his career with the club.
Taylor was called into first-team action by Steve McClaren after a successful loan spell at Bradford and made his Boro debut in a 7-0 humbling at the hands of Arsenal in January 2004.
Despite this baptism of fire, the England under-19 international has since won a host of admirers at The Riverside and, after signing a new five-year deal at Boro in January 2008, will be looking to maintain his progress under Southgate.
