Once the "best left-back outside the Premiership", he's now concentrating simply on keeping his place
A model of consistency, Drury made his name at Peterborough United, where he was heralded as the best left-back in the lower leagues. Sharp in the tackle and with good distribution, he switched to Norwich for £500,000 in March 2001 and was voted Player of the Year in his first full season with the club.
Named as club captain, his form suffered a dip during the club’s Premier League season of 2004/05, but he stormed back towards the end of that campaign. He signed a new four-year contract in May 2007 but was replaced as skipper at the start of the 2007/08 season by Jason Shackell and struggled to earn a regular place in the side.
